Paddy Power take over Sportsbet
It is now official, Irish bookmaker paddy power will acquire 51% of Matthew Tripp’s Sportsbet.com.au over the next three years, with the option to purchase the remaining 49% over 2012,13,14. Sportsbet.com.au have also been linked with ” Canbet.com.au and Iasbet.com.au” with a 20% stake and a look to acquire a larger stake.
It all seems to be happening downunder with TABCORP’s wagering monopoly up for tender which could see ” THE TAB” lose their monopolyon the the Australian Wagering Market. Time will tell and this certainly seems like the first step in making a move for the monopoly. PaddyPower operate betshops through Europe, Great Britain and Ireland ofcourse.

This will be very interestin, alot of punters are sick of the tab but it will be interesting to see what other bookmakers can provide. Maybe the tab are doing well….maybe as punters we are always going to complain
